It really is that time of year again. Summer comes so fast and camps fill up before we can blink. It is summer camp registration time Mississauga! Summer camp is not just about sending your precious ones away to sleep in cabins far away from home. Right here in the Mississauga area, there are many ways to keep our youngsters occupied through the summer. Day camps in Mississauga feature all types of sports, music, visual arts, drama, language instruction, academic and any combination of these. You will find most camps specialize in one area or another but are completed with a very well rounded program. No matter what age, no matter what interest there is a camp for every child. To keep parents informed and assist in making the right choices, Mississauga Kids will feature all the best local camps in a series of articles this April. Information is trickling in so these camps are in no particular order. Regular updates will be provided!

This year Alliance Française de Toronto is offering an all-day French Summer Camps at their Mississauga Campus. Four thematic sessions are open in which your child will enjoy a real immersion experience “en français”, develop skills and ease in the language…and have fun!

  • Session 1 : (July 3 to July 13): The Seven Wonders of the World
  • Session 2 : (July 15 to July 26) : Building future cities
  • Session 3 : (July 29 to August 9): Investigation in the Museum
  • Session 4 : (August 12 to August 16) Renewable energy

With language activities in the classroom added to sports and cultural or scientific workshops, these summer camps provide a complete French language immersion and a unique blend of fun, relaxing and educational activities. Camps runAlliance Francaise Summer Camps from 9am to 4pm daily with extended hours available from 8am in the morning and until 6pm in the evening. For non-francophone children aged 5-11, from complete beginners to advanced speakers.

Music Summer Camps
will be available at Do Re Mi for Kids again this summer. One week camps are planned for the weeks Doremi For Kids Summer Campof July 15th, August 12th and August 19th. Camps run daily from 9:00am – 4:30pm with before care from 8:30 am and after care till 6:00pm.  The ratio is 6:1 to ensure each child gets the attention the need. Each week the students prepare to put on a mini musical, including songs, dances, rhythm ensembles, costumes and prop making. Each week will have a different theme and an original script. These camps are appropriate for ages 5 up to 14 with age appropriate groups and activities arranged.

A Summer Camp ART experience will be offered at the Fun Side this summer for campers aged 5 – 10 years old. Age appropriate themes will be offered including weekly art projects, music and song plus specialFun Side Summer Camp activities. The Fun Side is a private indoor playground with incredible facilities for all ages. On site activities at Fun Side include rock climbing, air hockey, table tennis, X-Box, and more. Camps will run week days starting July 8th until August 30th from 9am to 4pm. Before care starts 7:45am and after care runs until 6pm. This summer camp can be reserved by the day or by the week. Multi-sport summer camp programs are offered at Joshua Creek Sports. Full day camps run 9am to 4pm with early drop off available from 7:00am and late pick-up available until 6:30pm. This summer camp provides Joshua Creek Sports Summer Campan active week of sports and activity. Appropriate for ages 5-13, these camps run weekly from June 17th with the last sessions starting August 26th. The main focus is tennis but there is also soccer, basketball, indoor games, outdoor games, arts & crafts plus a golf option. Children learn the fundamentals of tennis guided by enthusiastic instructors comprised primarily of Tennis Canada certified instructors. Golf is an exciting option for campers with a driving range at the facility headed by a C.P.G.A professional. New this summer: ‘KidFit’ Girls only Fitness Camps for girls and young women ages 9-16!
