Summer Camps 2013 in Mississauga Part 4

The time for summer camp registration is now. Summer comes fast and summer camps in Mississauga fill up even faster. The time to register is now Mississauga! Some camps are sold out by May. Mississauga offers a wide variety of  summer day camps that specialize in Fun Summer Campsone area or another but always add a very well rounded program. From sports to music, visual arts and drama or language instruction and academics or any combination of these, there is something for every child. Many camps include field trips and adventures. No matter what age, no matter what interest there is a camp for every child. It is an opportunity to be active, creative, learn and MAKE FRIENDS! To keep parents informed and assist in making the right choices, Mississauga Kids will feature all the best local camps in a series of articles in April. Information is trickling in so these camps are in no particular order. Regular updates will be provided!
Alpha’s Discovery Club is the place to be over the summer. A balance of fun and interactive learning is the focus of Summer Camp 2013. Experienced camp instructors will lead children from 3-9 years old in Academics, Drama, Sports, Science and Creative Arts & Crafts workshops focused on the weekly themes.

Airborne Trampoline Centre’s popular summer camps are back for 2013.  Week long indoor trampoline summer camps run Airborne Trampolinefrom July 2 to Aug 30 for ages 6-14 and leader in training programs for ages 15-16. Camps run Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm with
8:30am drop off available at no charge. Other before and after care can be arranged for a fee. Maximum staff to camper ratio is 1:8 and safety is always a focus at Airborne. Great trampolining is taught by NCCP certified coaches. Campers can earn ribbons to measure their success as their skills improve. There are weekly trips to locations like Canada’s Wonderland, Wild Water Kingdom, and many more!!

This year marks the 16th annual Arts Day Camps presented by Studio PAVAS. Available camps include Performing and Visual Arts (Ages 3-14), Music and Visual Arts (Ages 8-13), Competitive Dance (Ages 5-17) and Competitive Acro/Dance (Ages 7-17) Full days areStudio PAVAS 9am to 4pm with half days 9am to 12pm and 1pm to 4pm. Before care is available from 7:30am and after care is available until 6pm. Arts day camps at Studio PAVAS are fun filled with art, music, drama, and dance. While students from beginner to advanced are encouraged to explore and expand their creativity and performance skills, they will make new friends, have great fun, grow and learn from professional teachers. Each Friday ends on a high note with a performance for the parents. Musical theater, jazz, hip hop, acro, Irish, lyrical, art, 2D, 3D, music theory, instrumental, ballet, tap, contemporary and more are all available at Studio PAVAS. This year Sports Training Academy will be hosting a variety of camps weekly throughout July and August. Short weeks due to holidays will have a prorated price. Camp times are 8:30-4:30 (full day) 8:30-12:30 (half day morning) and 12:30-4:30 (half day afternoon) Before care is available from 7:30, and aftercare is available until 6:00.

MULTI-SPORT SUMMER CAMP: (Ages 6-13) Each child will participate in a variety of sports including hockey, baseball, soccer, golf, football, basketball, gymnastics and fitness! This camp builds their self-esteem, discovers new strenghts and show that we all have different strengths.
JUNIOR ACADEMY MULTI-SPORT SUMMER CAMP: (Ages 2-5) The Junior Academy camp for kids is geared towards keeping kids active and healthy. The program is a great way to introduce children to the social environment outside the home, and get them ready for school! The week’s activities are focused on learning the fundamentals of a variety of sports (including, soccer, baseball, golf, hockey, and gymnastics), as well as having fun and meeting new friends!
GYMNASTICS/CHEERLEADING SUMMER CAMP: (Ages 6-13) In the Total Gymnastics Camps & Cheer Camps, your child will learn the basics of gymnastics and tumbling and well as cheerleading! Children work on a variety of different gymnastic skills on the spring floor, the 30-foot long tumble track, the junior high bar and the mini balance beam. The basics of are introduced in order to progressively build a fun and energetic cheer routine
GOLF SUMMER CAMP: (Ages 8-13) The curriculum concentrates on “golf basics”, and will be presented in a relaxed atmosphere. Drills, small competitions, and games will make it fun! Golf rules, etiquette, course management, and just plain proper demeanor around a golf facility, will be stressed. There will be daily trips to Oakville Executive Golf Course and Vic Hadfields Golf Range.
TOTAL HOCKEY SUMMER CAMP: (Ages 6-13) Everyday hockey players will have at least 2-45 minute workouts dedicated to skating treadmill and on-ice skills as well as 2-45 minute fitness workouts dedicated to plyometrics, speed, core strength and flexibility. Athletes will also be able to enjoy excursions to a local ice rink throughout the week. At The Sports Training Academy, athletes will benefit from new and creative teaching methods.
