The Pakmen kids summer volleyball camp is back for its seventh consecutive year. The Pakmen camp is the perfect opportunity for children, 6 to 14 years old, to fill their summer days with the type of productive and active behavior that summer times were made for. When you think Summer Camp, what automatically comes to mind is the smiles, spirit and personal growth. When it comes to Pakmen, volleyball camp participants should expect nothing less. Pakmen is, after all, the largest and most diverse volleyball club in all of Canada and for good reason. This reputation was built by providing well designed, quality programs under the supervision of outstanding coaches. Pakmen’s coaches are university and college players who are also NCCP certified volleyball coaches. They are extremely popular with the players because they are excellent teachers and motivators.
Kids look up to the professional certified instructors at Pakmen who provide endless engaging activities to develop a multitude of skills necessary for not only volleyball, but life as well. Summer camp is a time for kids to experience a myriad of activities and create memories they will cherish forever.
So what would a typical day at the Pakmen kids summer camp look like?
On the first day the camp is divided by age and skill level, so players have competition that is right for them. Half the players start in the morning at the indoor volleyball gym and the other half outside on the beach volleyball courts. At around 10:30 am, the groups switch. The morning starts off with a fun warm up game, such as ‘octopus’ or tag. Then the group goes through drills, which vary based on skill level. The drills also include games such as “Vollace” and “Hit the Coaches” which always is the most popular drill among the players. Shortly after this the players have lunch for a half hour where they socialize and get to know each other.
After lunch, they play indoor or beach volleyball games, depending on the day. At 1:00 pm, the half-day players go home with a Freezie. The full day kids spend the rest of the afternoon playing dodgeball, soccer, hockey, performing skits, watching volleyball videos, and playing other camp games. However, the day always ends with a few rounds of indoor volleyball. Over the years, the coaches have created a yearly video featuring the players of the summer volleyball camp. Last year’s highlight included a water balloon fight. These videos are available on Pakmen’s youtube channel.
Volleyball is an excellent way for kids to productively spend their free time. Kids volleyball is a good solution for parents who are looking for a cost effective way to keep their kids active and occupied. For kids it’s a learning opportunity, a way to have fun and make new friends.
Pakmen also offers weekend outdoor beach volleyball programs in Mississauga for boys and girls, 6 to 18 years old. For more information about Volleyball Camp or the weekend outdoor beach volleyball programs please visit the website www.pakmen.com
