The Mississauga Marathon invites kids of all ages to participate in the 10KM Student Relay on Saturday, April 30th and the Enersource MaraFun Program, which finishes as part of the 2KM Fun Run/Walk on Sunday, May 1st, 2016. Both races are great ways to get involved in a major community sporting event and learn about what it takes to live a healthy active lifestyle. Most importantly, they are FUN!
The 10KM Student Relay consists of up to four team members running a combined distance of 10KM (2.5 KM each). All participants will receive an official Mississauga Marathon t-shirt, medal, race bib and Swag Bag along with the chance to win great prizes. The race takes place on a wonderfully scenic course and finishes in beautiful Lakefront Promenade Park.
The Enersource MaraFun Program is the Voltinator’s favourite part of the Mississauga Marathon! This event gives kids the experience of running the Full Marathon over the six weeks leading up to the event. The program officially starts on Monday, March 21st but late entries are always welcome. Kids will complete a few kilometres of physical activity each day, adding them up towards their goal of 40 KM before Race Weekend. On race day, they will participate in the 2KM Fun Run/Walk, completing their 42KM: a Full Marathon!
Interested schools and clubs can visit www.mississaugamarathon.com for more information or contact firstname.lastname@example.org. School presentations are available to inform kids and faculty about the benefits of being a part of this World Class event. Each year, the coveted MaraFun Cup is presented to “The School That Goes the Distance” and has the most participation. See you at the start line!
