Fee Fi Fo Fun is a friendly neighbourhood costume and helium balloon store. Owner Alison Pentland says, “We are here year-round for the parent whose child says “Mom, I need a ________ for tomorrow morning. We carry costumes and props for school, dance, camp, dramatic play, but parents love getting and giving our dress-up as gifts.”
Alison says she has taken inspiration from many places, including the Mr. Dress-Up television show where for almost 30 years families enjoyed the magical Tickle Trunk. She says, “Dress-up has many benefits. It allows children a safe and socially acceptable means of exploring adult ideas such as gender, career, economy and social status. Creativity and imagination are used as children mix and match store bought items with household or recycled items, like pairing a cape with a cardboard box for a superhero robot.” As well”, Alison says, “dress-up helps kids practice with zippers, sleeves and buttons.”
Not one to let the kids have all the fun, Alison says many of their products fit adults. She cited that parents come in solo when they need something special for a corporate or after-hours event. This includes historical wigs, novelty glasses, pink moustaches and steampunk lace parasols and a selection of breath-taking hand made Venetian Masks.

There are more than 1,000 items on their website to linger over or drop into their store at 1842 Lakeshore Rd. W., just East of Southdown Rd directly across from HomeSense. They are open Tuesday through Saturday from 10-6pm, but have been known to open in a costume or balloon emergency!
