MARCH BREAK IN MISSISSAUGA 2014

March Break is quickly approaching!  This year most students will be off from March 10th to 14th; a week Mississauga has filled with activities your kids will love. To help you make the best of your week, we’ve compiled a list of the best ways to spend the week with your little ones and the Mississauga March Break day camps they won’t forget. Futures Gymnastics

SPORT MARCH BREAK CAMPS

At Kids SuperGym, children will be participating in activities like acro-tumbling gymnastics, arts and crafts, trampoline and cooperative games. All camps are offered on a per day basis or sign up for the whole week.

Futures Gymnastics has an active March Break camp for kids ages 3 to 12. Children will learn the fundamentals of gymnastics, trampoline and more! They offer full and half day camps, with pre and post care for an additional fee.

At Manjak’s Gymnastics children ages 4-12 are invited for gym time and crafts. Cost is $30 for a half day or $50 for a full day throughout March Break.

March Break camps at Airborne Trampoline are about more than just jumping. Children 6 and up will be participating in bowling, swimming, Dave& Busters and more! The camp runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., extended care is available. Your child may attend just one day or the full week.

North Mississauga Soccer Club March Break camp is an exciting new indoor camp that’s all about soccer. Full day and half day camps available. Both options feature soccer skills and development, plus fun and games with new friends.

Archery at the Ontario Centre for Classical SportHas your child dreamed of becoming a Knight? Make that dream come true at Ontario Centre for Classical Sport. Their Knight March Break camp for children ages 8-11 features fencing, archery, leather working and other chivalric activities from the days of old!

Pakmen’s Volleyball Club offers a camp for kids ages 9-14. The aim of this camp is to have fun, promote fitness and develop volleyball skills! All skill levels will be accommodated.

Alpha’s Discovery Club Indoor Playground March Break camp offers a variety of stimulating and fun activities for children ages 3 to 9. The camp programs have a balance of social, intellectual and physical activities for every child while exploring different themes.

Children at Magnitude Martial Arts will be kept very busy with each day filled with different activities. From 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM campers will learn Taekwondo with certified black belts, go on daily excursions, and play indoor games like dodgeball and survivor.

ARTS AND LANGUAGE MARCH BREAK CAMPS

  • Imaginators (Ages 6 – 7) This fun-filled program for young artists with big imaginations introduces them to the amazing possibilities of painting, drawing, sculpting, and much more.
  • Art Craze (Ages 8-10)  Jump into art with Art Craze! This dynamic and popular program provides an exciting introduction to a wide variety of art techniques and materials. Painting, drawing and sculpture will be explored.
  • Act Up! (Ages 8 – 12) Through games and activities, campers will explore a variety of stage skills and techniques, and develop their talent and confidence for performing. Young actors will perform for family and friends on the final day.
  • Dynamite Dance Basics (Ages 8 – 12) Campers will be led through the basics of dance focusing on contemporary styles including hip hop and jazz. They will learn basic choreography and will develop their own choreographed dances, which they will present to family and friends.
  • Design It! (Ages 9 – 13)  Explore how master designers create amazing 2D and 3D objects while getting the chance to invent your own. Campers will see their imagination come to life while developing creative technical and problem solving skills through the design process.
  • TV Techniques (Ages 11 – 14) Experience technical training in camera, lighting and sound, and explore the creative side of writing and acting by producing the first episode of your own TV program. A premiere showing will be held in our film theatre on the final day.

Kindergarteners are invited to SimplySmart for the week of March 10th or 17th for Yoga, Dance & Music while following the regular schedule of their Gamma classrooms. Lunch and 2 snacks are provided and the Camp fee is $255 per week.

CP School of Music March Break Camps CP School of Music and Arts offers four types of camps for March Break this year for children ages 5 to 12. They offer a PerformingArts Camp, Dance Camp, Art Camp and Piano Beginners Camp.

Bricks 4 Kidz has the perfect camp for LEGO lovers. Children use LEGO bricks to explore the world of engineering and architecture through friendly and team-based environment. Camps for children ages 5-10 run at the University of Toronto Mississauga Campus and the Vic Johnson Community Centre.

Alliance Française offers a camp to help your child improve their French language skills. The camp is for ages 5 – 11 and focuses on oral communication skills.

OUTDOOR MARCH BREAK ACTIVITIES

Be sure to bundle up for these winter activities!

Deer at Riverwood Conservatory The Riverwood Conservatory invites you to a day of FREE family fun exploring the abundant wildlife of Mississauga. Guided nature hikes start at 9:00 am, 10:00 am, 1:00 pm & 2:00 pm from March 10th-13th. The Ontario Falconry Centre will also hold a meet & greet with flight demonstrations on Thursday March 13th at 10:00am. Pre-registration is required.

The Magical Maple Syrup Festival is back from March 8th-16th, weekdays from 12 to 4 p.m. and weekends 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Entry is $19.50 (plus tax) for a family of two adults and three children.

Another great way to enjoy the winter weather is to go to an outdoor skating rink. Mississauga has lots of outdoor skating rinks for the community to bring their families and have a good time. Find out which rink is closest to your neighbourhood here.
