With March Break approaching Mississauga Parents are beginning to look for fun and engaging ways to keep the kids occupied and happy.  There are a variety of March Break Camps available to help parents who have to work over the holiday break.  These camps are also a wonderful way for Mississauga kids to try out a variety of activities they may have expressed an interest in.   Check out our list of March Break Camps, note that we will continue to update the list over the coming weeks so keep checking back for more options!

March Break with Music at Do Re Mi for Kids – Let your musical creativity run wild! Open to children ages 5-13, with or without previous musical experience.  The kids will be singing, dancing, drumming, making musical instruments and learning basic music skills.  At the end of the week, they will be putting on a show for their families.  Camp runs from 9:00-4:30 with before/after care available. The Living Arts Centre – Imaginators – This fun-filled program for young artists with big imaginations introduces them to the amazing possibilities of painting, drawing, sculpting, and much more. Part of each day will be spent going clay crazy in our Ceramics studio while the other part will be spent creating in our child-friendly Kidspace! NEW PROJECTS EACH YEAR! Clay pieces will be fired and ready for pick-up within three weeks of the end of the program. Ages 8-10

The Great March Break Adventure – Adventure! Fun! Friends!  That’s what Cross of Life’s March Break Camp is all about!  By exploring a popular destination each day, the children will be able to discover the wonderful world God has made and hear how much he cares for it and them.  Destinations include: the Royal Ontario Museum, the Canadian Warplane Museum, Hockey Hall of Fame, Queen’s Park, the Kitchener Children’s Museum, and Bird Kingdom. The Living Arts Centre – Art Craze –  Jump into art with Art Craze! This dynamic and popular program provides an exciting introduction to a wide variety of art techniques and materials. NEW PROJECTS EVERY YEAR! Painting, drawing, sculpture and printmaking will be explored. New artists will be amazed by the spectacular artworks they create, and returning ones will refine their skills! Ages 8-10

Creative Kids Place will be offering a March Break Camp 2011.  This camp will be geared for kids aged 5 to 11 years old. Kids will explore a variety of crafts each day.  Games and other activities will be played throughout the day. Some of the crafts will include ceramic painting, mosaics, paper mache, African mask making, candy kabobs, modeling with clay, jewelery making for girls and wood vehicles for boys and many more. The cost for a 1 week full day camp is $200 plus HST and for a 1 week half day camp is $125 plus HST. Advance registration is required. Alliance Française de Toronto is offering an all-day French camp (9am-4pm) during March break (March 14-18) where your child will enjoy a real immersion experience “en français”, develop skills and ease in the language…and have fun! Extended hours between 8:00 and 9:00am, as well as between 4:00 and 6:00pm.  For non-francophone children aged 5-11, from complete beginners to advanced speakers Contact 905-272-4444.

Alpha’s Discovery Club is holding a March Break Camp (March 14-25, 2010) for children aged 3-9 years old. The camp will focus on specific themes each day. It will include workshops in Drama, Sports, Science, Arts/Crafts, Gym and co-operative games. Advance Registration is required. Cost: $15/half day $30/full day. The Living Arts Centre – Dynamite Dance Basics – Get ready to move and groove in this new dance program! Campers will be lead through the basics of dance focusing on contemporary styles including hip hop and jazz. They will learn basic choreography and will also have an opportunity to develop their own choreographed dances, which they will present to family and friends at the end of the session. This is the perfect introduction to dance for campers who have an interest in dance, but no formal dance training is required. Ages 8-12.

CP School of Music & Arts offers Music, Dance and Art March break camps for kids ages 3-12. Our Preschool  “Sing and Dance with Me” and “Performing Arts Camp” for kids 6-12  will   introduce kids  to the basic concepts in music, they will learn ballet, hip hop and jazz steps in dance and explore different media in art.  Piano Beginner Camp is designed for students who have had no piano study or just started learning the piano. The Living Arts Centre – TV Techniques – This ever popular program offers budding directors, script writers, and camera operators the chance to learn the fundamentals of TV production! Experience technical training in camera, lighting and sound, and explore the creative side of writing and acting by producing the first episode of your own TV program. A premier showing will be held in our film theatre on the final day. Each filmmaker will receive a copy of the final project. This program provides an excellent complement to the Movie Makers program offered during the Centre’s Summer Camp. Ages 11-14.

T-Rox Music Academy has a Full-Day March Break Camp.  Get ready for the coolest week of music ever! Campers will make new friends and jam with their band. Showcase gig and video shoot for each group.  Daily master classes on their instrument.  Cool-School music theory and song writing will be featured.  Campers will design their own band logo and promotional material. Guitar, Bass, Drums, Keyboards and Vocals.  The T-Rox Music Academy full day music camp is available March 14-18, 2011 from 9:00am-5:00pm at our Clarkson facility.  There is only space for 5 drummers, 5 bass players, 10 guitar players, 4 keyboard players and 5 vocalists. The Living Arts Centre – Act Up! – Calling all budding actors! This exciting program takes campers on a fun and creative journey into the world of theatre! Through games and activities, campers will explore a variety of stage skills and techniques, and develop their talent and confidence for performing on stage. Our young actors will work towards a short performance for family and friends on the final day. Ages 8-10
