March Break Camps for 2009 at the Mississauga Living Arts Centre

One of the exciting and educational March Break Camp options in Mississauga are the very popular art and acting programs at the Living Arts Centre. Open to children from the ages of 6-14 these programs offer a chance for Mississauga Kids to explore their artistic and dramatic desires.  Just take a peek at what they are offering!

 

March Break 2009 at the Living Arts Centre

 Imaginators: Ages 6-7
This fun-filled program for young artists with big imaginations introduces them to the amazing possibilities of painting, drawing, sculpting, and much more. Part of each day will be spent going clay crazy in our Ceramics studio while the other part will be spent creating in our child-friendly Kidspace! NEW PROJECTS EVERY YEAR! Clay pieces will be fired and ready for pick-up within three weeks of the end of the program. Cost: $216.00

 

Art Craze: Ages 8-10
Jump into art with Art Craze! This dynamic and popular program provides an exciting introduction to a wide variety of art techniques and materials. NEW PROJECTS EVERY YEAR! Painting, drawing, sculpture and printmaking will be explored. New artists will be amazed by the spectacular artworks they create, and returning ones will refine their skills!  Cost: $216.00

Act Up: Ages 8-10
Calling all budding actors! This exciting program takes campers on a fun and creative journey into the world of theatre! Through games and activities, campers will explore a variety of stage skills and techniques, and develop their talent and confidence for performing on stage. Our young actors will work towards a short performance for family and friends on the final day. » This program provides an excellent complement to the Bravo Broadway program offered during the Centre’s Summer Camp.   Cost: $216.00

TV Techniques: Ages 11-14
This ever popular program offers budding directors, script writers, and camera operators the chance to learn the fundamentals of TV production! Experience technical training in camera, lighting and sound, and explore the creative side of writing and acting by producing the first episode of your own TV program. A premier showing will be held in our film theatre on the final day. Each filmmaker will receive a copy of the final project. This program provides an excellent complement to the Movie Makers program offered during the Centre’s Summer Camp.   Cost: $216.00

 

Daily Schedule
PA Day programs are one-day in length and March Break Camp (March 16 – 20) is one week in length. Each program runs from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Supervised morning, afternoon and lunch breaks are provided for all campers. Campers must bring their own lunch and snacks.

Drop Off & Pick-Up
Camp programs begin at 9:00 a.m. Please drop off your child at the Camp sign-in area on the main floor of the Centre at least 10 minutes prior to the program start time. Children MUST be picked up promptly after programs or evening extended care. Late pick up charges will apply. Photo ID must be presented by those authorized to pick up campers each day. There will be a late pick-up fee of $20.00 after 4:00 p.m. for campers not registered in Extended Care.

Extended Care
Extended care consists of supervised activities available. Morning extended care is available free of charge for all Camps. Extended care for PA Day Camps is from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Morning extended care for all other camps, including March Break and Summer Camp is from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Evening extended care is offered for all camps from 4:00 – 5:30 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis for a fee. Limited spaces available.
PA Day – $10.00; March Break – $35.00
There will be a late pick-up fee of $20.00 after 5:30 p.m.

Lunch & Snacks
Campers MUST provide their own lunches, snacks and drinks. Refrigeration for lunches, snacks and drinks is not available. No nuts please. Adult supervision is provided for all campers over the lunch hour.
