Family day is a holiday for select provinces in Canada (Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, P.E.I. and Saskatchewan) on the third Monday of February and the second Monday in February for British Columbia. In P.E.I. the holiday is know as Islander Day and Louis Riel Day in Manitoba. The statutory holiday is meant as a time to spend and enjoy bonding with family.

Sing-a-long-a Sound of Music kicks off Family Day weekend at the Living Arts Centre on Saturday, February 15, 2014 with a sing-a-long screening of the classic Julie Andrews musical film, The Sound of Music complete with subtitles so that the whole audience can sing along! Costumes are encouraged so come dressed as your favourite character!
Tickets: $20-$25 Show time: 2 p.m.
For children ages 4+, The Snail and the Whale offers storytelling, live music and lots of laughs for the whole family as the story of a tiny snail who longs to see the world is seen through the eyes of a very adventurous young girl.

On Family Day, Monday, Feb. 17, 2014 families and children of all ages are invited to the Living Arts Centre between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. for a complimentary day of arts and crafts, artist demonstrations, live entertainment, photo booth, magic and much more!
Free hot chocolate will keep your family cozy and food and drinks will also be available for purchase including pizza, hot dogs, popcorn, chips and more.

The Bradley Museum, Leslie Log House & Benares House are open for family day. Each of the museum sites will be hosting tours this Family Day in Mississauga. Our great city is full history. Family Day is a convenient moment to take a step back in time and learn about the struggles, hardships and ways of the United Empire Loyalists at the Bradley House with your kids.
