Wondering what to do on Family Day? Look no further! The Living Arts Centre will be hosting Family Day events in and outside the centre on February 20th 2017 – a day guaranteed to entertain parents and children alike! This year, the LAC has prepared a jam-packed day of crafts, performances, workshops and activities for the whole family to enjoy!
To start off the day, warm up with a free hot chocolate from their in-house LIVE Restaurant! Children can then channel their creativity at a variety of different crafts tables and take their creations home as lovely souvenirs. Some of their creations will also be used in an installation in the new Deep Roots gallery exhibition! Families can also enjoy a demonstration from ceramics artists.
Throughout the day, families can view and participate in numerous activities around the Centre. Watch IceCulture as they carve ice sculptures with chainsaws, learn how to build a fire – and roast some marshmallows while you’re at it! – watch a dance demonstration from Coleman Lemieux, or join a dance workshop with KasheDance! Wind down with storytelling from Sandra Whiting and Aqua Rennie or perhaps catch a short film showing in Rogers Theatre.
Don’t forget to stop by the photobooth for some wintery family photos, and make sure to take your own with the stilt-performers walking around on-site and fill up on tempting snacks from the LIVE Restaurant!
Family Day celebrations will take place from 11am to 3pm. The Living Arts Centre is conveniently located across from Square One and City Hall, at 4141 Living Arts Drive, Mississauga, ON L5B 4B8. Underground parking and street parking around the Centre is available for those who are driving.
So drop by the Living Arts Centre and prepare yourself for a day of nothing but fun! They can’t wait to spend Family Day with you!
